Hey Jean,
I’ve searched the Faircloth family clan for over twenty years and I think I know why John Faircloth and maybe his son Allen raised Beulah, Albert and Julia McBride (children of Isaiah McBride and Moletta Clay Calcote (Cottle). I hope I can explain this small mess, I think I understand my information and sources. Maybe !!!

(1) Isaiah J. McBride married Moletta Clay Calcote, (Isaiah’s second wife) and they had three children - Beulah, Albert and Julia McBride.
Isaiah and his first wife (?) gave birth to Charlie A. McBride, b. 15 Oct 1867

(2) Wiley J. Faircloth, b. 1822 in N.C. married Cynthia Civility Calcote, b. 1827 in Florida, married 21 Sep 1843 in Henry Co. Ala. They had three children – Elizabeth Jane, Leonzo & Sophia Faircloth.
Wiley J. also married Priscilla McDonald about 1860 in Alabama. They had three children also. Wiley’s parents were Noah Faircloth and Jane (?).

(3) JOHN ALLEN FAIRCLOTH, b. 10 Apr 1815 IN Sampson Co., N.C. , married Perandy Calcote b. 1825 in Florida, John Allen and his wife Perandy Calcote (Cottle) had 4 children - Allen, Jr., Civility, Addison and Calissa Anna C. ("Callieanna")

John Allen Faircloth was the son of JOHN D. FAIRCLOTH, Jr., b. about 1778 in Sampson Co., N.C. and Catherine Hair.

Wiley J. Faircloth was the son of Noah Faircloth and Jane (?).

Noah and John D. Faircloth, Jr. were brothers and sons of John D, Faircloth, Sr. b. 1760 in Edgecombe Co., N.C and Catherina Holton.

I believe Moletta, Civility and Perandy Calcote were sisters. I do not have their parents in my database.

Below is one of my notes on this family and their travels :
John Faircloth, Jr. was a member of the first Board of County Commissioners in Henry County, Alabama along with James Bennett and Sion Smith. After their father's death John Junior, Noah and Raiford Faircloth Junior left Sumter (Sumpter?) County, South Carolina and moved to the Wiregrass region in Henry County, Alabama in the 1820s and later went to Jackson County, Florida. They all left there in 1860 going to Winn Parish, Louisiana except one son, Thomas Didymus (He went to Polk Co., Texas).

I hope this helps you in your search and if you find anymore information concerning this family please share it with me, so I can share it with future searchers.

Thank you,
Your Cuz,
Andrew Denis Faircloth
