Sanna..This in in reply to your email concerning Fairburns in Wapello Co Iowa. I tried to send to your email address but it was kicked back 3 times. Let me know if you get this.
1850 Iowa Census...wapello co...Dist 13
Fairburn, Moses 49
Mary 34
Hugh 16
Mary 14
William 12
Isabelle 10
Sarah 3
Thomas 6 months
Census states that all but Sarah and Thomas were born in Ireland. Sarah and Thomas were born in Iowa.
Hope this helps some.
Jerry Bishop
PS...Thanks a bunch for your offer of help in NC. I was born and raised in Union Co SC. Lived there for 20 years and now live in Iowa. I know, I know, why would a southern boy live in Iowa...it is a long story.
All of my ancestors came down from VA thru NC (Lincolton area) and on into Spartanburg SC area.
I do have one person I need help with. My gggrandmother.
Mahala Nolen b 11 Aug 1841 SC married 12 May 1856 to Isaac Tinsley of SC. Mahala's father was John Nolen and I think her mother was Nancy Sade Poston from NC I think. If you run across her anything will be greatly appreciated. Nolen has many spellings...Knowlin..Nolan..Noland and on and on.
Thanks
Jerry
