I think we may be looking for the same person. Have you found him? He is my father. Same age that you have provided.
I did find one in conn. age 76 or so thought I may try and make contact with him.

I believe the John Samuel Fairbanks you are looking for lived in the Wenatchee area in the late60's early 70's.

He married a Nola Simmons in 1971 and unknown how long he was with her or if he still is with her.
