The only thing I know about Fain is that my grandfather was named William Fain Green. I just recently found that there were Fains in Guilford County NC. I was hoping that there might be some connection to the Green's, so that I could link up to who Hiram's father was. I found out that the surname Fain was popular in East TN, and families used that name for their kids to honor Fain. I will be waiting to hear what you have on Mitchell.
