This is the same Warner Failing. Elizabeth Dunkle was his first wife, by whom he had several children. Warner's second wife was Elizabeth Pickard Stansel (spellings vary), by whom he had ten more children: Nancy, Dr. Walter, Harvey, Oliver, Mary Jane, George Henry, Elizabeth, Ellen M, William Stansel, and Walstien A. I am the great-grandson on William Stansel Failing.

Warner Failing moved from the Mohawk Valley to Watertown, NY, where he ran the Failing Hotel for many years. He is buried at Watertown with his name and the names of both Elizabeths on the same monument.

A cousin of mine has perhaps a hundred letters written by this family to William S. who came to Oregon 1861 via Panama and California. We are in a slowly paced process of sorting and typing the letters.

I can be reached at hahuntjr@eoni.com, or 503 1/2 Washinton, La Grande, OR 97850. I have some materials I can share, and a family history on the LDS Personal Ancestral File.
Over.
