Couple of tidbits.... The ONLY William FAGG (& wife Martha (SUBLETT) FAGG) I have went from Jackson Co., AL (1850 cens)to Boone Co., MO (1860 & 1870) Couldn't find in 1880 and someone (Janna Mayfield?) told me some went back to TN/AL and others went on to TX... Here's the census info For 1860-70, for what it's worth....
