Jean Fafard had two wives
Hi,
Jean Fafard had two wives in France, Elisabeth Tibou and Antoinette Leverdier.I have three direct lines to Jean Fafard. His sons Francois and Bertrand were half brothers.
Children of Jean Fafard and Elisabeth Tibou:
1) Bertrand Fafard-aka-LaFramboise This is my long line.
2) Francoise Fafard married to Mathurin Meunier/Monier/LeMousnier.The surname ends here with this line.
Child of Jean Fafard and Antoinette Leverdier:
1) Francois Fafard married to Marie Richard. His son Francois Fafard-aka-DeLorme married to Marie-Madeleine Jobin and the surname ends with their daughter Marie-Anne-Jeanne Fafard-aka-DeLorme married to Jean-Baptiste Lupien-aka-Baron.
Jean-Baptiste Lupien-dit-Baron married Marie-Francoise Fafard-aka-Longval-LaFramboise on 10 Jan 1702.
All the confusion comes into play because 3 of Louis Fafard-dit-Laframboise, Sieur de Longval and Marie Lucas-dit-Dontigni’s daughters had the name Marie as part of their name.I believe that PRDH has helped me solve the problem.
The priest did not always record the full name and that made it confusing.PRDH combined the information from their children birth information and determined that Noel’s wife Marie was Marie-Francoise Fafard-aka-Longval-LaFramboise born on 24 Oct 1685 that married Noel Trottier, Sieur De LaBissonniere. In 2007 I proved all my files with PRDH back ups.
Therese-Marie-Marguerite Fafard-dit-Longval-LaFramboise born on 01 Aug 1688 did not get married.
According to PRDH, Marie Exupere born 13 Jan 1699 was the nun that took on the name Mother St. Jean-Baptiste, her death year 1788 was proven in the registry of the Ursulines Nuns at Trois Pistoles.
I hope that this helps solve some of the confusion.I will attach my 3 generation file on this family with my notes in a separate message. It is not pure science and there are bound to be mistakes. If you find some please point them out to me and feel free to ask questions.Janet
