The following is what information I have on the sons of Sgt. John P. Fadden and their military service:
NATHANIEL FADDEN served in Capt. Hill's Company, Pension Certificate of widow, Mary, No. 9715.(Copied from Roster of Soldiers in the War of 1812-1814, State of Vermont, prepared and published by Herbert T. Johnson, The Adjutant General, 1933, Page 153)
JOSEPH FADDEN -- Military Service: about 1812, Isle LaMotte Militia, War of 1812.
COMFORT W. FADDEN -- Military service 1812: September 11, 1814, Battle of Plattsburgh, New York, War of 1812, volunteer service on a naval vessel.
WILLIAM C. FADDEN -- WAR OF 1812.
CLAIM OF WIDOW FOR SERVICE PENSION
Under the provisions of Sections 4736 to 4740, inclusive, Revised Statutes, and Acts of March 9 1878.
State of Minnesota County of McLeod, ss.
On this 16th day of April, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight, personally appeared before me, J. Snyder Clerk of District Court, the same being a court record within and for the County and State aforesaid, (1) Jane Fadden, aged 83 years, a resident of Sibley County, in the State of Minnesota, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of (2) William Fadden deceased, who was the identical (3) William Fadden, who served under the name of (4) William Fadden as a (5) Private in the Company commanded by Captain Hill in the Vermont Militia Men, commanded by unknown in the War of (6) 1812; that her said husband (7) enlisted at Islemont Vermont on or about the (blank) day of May A.D. 1812 for the term of three years and continued in actual service in said war for the term of (8) about two & 1/2 years and whose service terminated, by reason of (9) honorable discharge Islemont VT. on the Fall of A.D. 1814.She further states that the following is a full description of her said husband at the time of his enlistment, viz: (10) Age 23 occupation farmer birthplace Albany N.Y. Height 5 feet 10 inch, light blue eyes, light complexion.She further states that she was married to the said William Fadden, at the town of Alburg, VT, in the county of Grand Isle, and in the State of Vermont, on the 38th day of November A.D. 1809 by one (11) John Manning (Justice of the Peace-lined out), who was a (12) Justice of the Peace; and that her name before her said marriage was Jane Scott; thereto and that her said husband (14) William Fadden, died at Henderson, in the State of Minnesota, on the 15th day of July, A.D. 1865, and she further declares that the following have been the places of residence of herself and her said husband since the date of his discharge from the Army, viz: (15) at Clarenceville Canada about 5 years at Albany N.Y. Sibly County Minnesota since 1863.She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Pension to which she may be entitled to under Section 4736 to 4740, inclusive, Revised Statutes, and the Act of March 9, 1878, and hereby appoints James Thompson of Washington D.C., her true and lawful attorney, to prosecute her claim.
And she further declares that she had heretofore make (blank) applications for (16) bounty land warrant and that a land warrant was issued to him through an attorney, but at what time or (ammounts?) she could not state and that her residence in No (blank) town of New Auburn county of Sibley State of Minnesota, and that her post office address in New Auburn Minnesota that she can produce no written evidence of her said marriage nor any living person who was present at marriage.

Also personally appeared Maria Richardson, age 76 years, residing at New Auburn Sibley County Minnesota, and Gilbert McDougall, aged 85 years, residing at No. New Auburn Sibley County Minnesota, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who, being by me duly sworn in say that they have known the said Jane Fadden for 36 years and for 60 years, respectively; that they were present and saw her sign her name (or make her mark) to the foregoing declaration; that they have every reason to believe, form the appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with her, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be; and they further say that they are able to identify her as theperson who was the wife of the identical (17) William Fadden, who rendered the service alleged in the above application (in the company of Captain Hill, in the regiment of (blank) in the War of 1812 by the following facts and circumstances, viz: (18) Said McDougall lived and resided with said William & Jane Fadden and as a neighbor together & with (?) (?) neighborhood with them for more than 35 years and each of them is positive that said Fadden were duly married from reputation in the neighborhood of the place where they were married and that they have no interest on the prosecution of the claim
