I am searching for ancestorial details pertaining to "O'Fadden". Supposedly my ancestors Henry and Bridget started out for America before 1850. Henry did not make it; he passed away on or before they left harbor. They were from the parish of Balentuber, County Mayo. They were recorded as O'Fadden. However, I find no record of O'Fadden anywhere. The name is speculated to have gone through many "alterations" as noted: Fargain, Fadgent, Fadgen, and Farge(i)n. My mother was a Fargen. I have two family stories that are conflicting. One is recording three children of Henry & Bridget: Martin, John, and Bridget. Another notes four children recorded as Martin, John, Clara (or Julia), and Mary. They found their way to the port in Milwaukee and eventually made home at Bear Creek, Wisconsin. I am anxious to hear from anyone or share what I have, what little it may be.
