Factor Family of Coshocton and Muskingum Counties

I'm trying to find connections between my ancestor George Factor and the other Factor families that settled in Coshocton County, Ohio in the 1840s. George was born in 1828 in Alsace-Lorraine, France. He married Anna Guenther and had several children: Mary Ann, George, Samuel, Frank, Agnes, Bertha, Isabella, Alice and Clara.

Other families of the area of that time include: Mathias Factor, Joseph Factor (1833-1906), Reeves Factor and Furdum (Ferdinand or Frederick?) Factor. All of them (I think) were born in Alsace-Lorraine. Much of Mathias's family moved to Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Information on Joseph's family can be found in message 4 in the Factor forum.

I have also come across information that says Factor may be a variation of the name Fechter. Many Fechters were also found living in Alsace-Lorraine.

Any thoughts?
