Hi Shelly and other Facey's.
I was interested in your message Shelly, because my family of Facey's were/are from Jamaica. But we did not own plantations. Our first forebear to come to Jamaica and settle was SAMPSON FACEY in 1745 (He died there in 1769). Sampson Facey was from London. We have done (and are continuing to do) quite extensive research into the family origins. There was one branch that had a brewery in Abergavaney in Wales (making "Facey's Ale") probably your forebears, and there are several families in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset.
Many Facey's migrated to Canada and Australia as well as the U.S.A. The Canadian Facey's were from the Devonshire branch, Congleton area, I think.
I would welcome chatting with any "namesakes"
to see if we can get a better idea of our origins.
Richard Facey
