Yes Elifus/Lifus is the Lithus Ezell on the 1860 census, with his wife Minerva(sp?) and son Abram.Abram has always confused me becuase he doesn't appear on the 1870 Mississippi census with Elifus/Lifus/Lithus and family. Then on the 1880 Alabama census there's an Abner.Samuel Ezell was the father of 8 children, Pleasant, Elifus,Calvin,George W., Martha, Elmira Jane, William D., and James.Samuel's wife, Ann/Anna, died sometime between 1860 and 1870 (appears on the 1860 census but not the 1870). I know the 4 oldest brothers served with the 40th Alabama Volunteer Infantry during the War, and I believe William D served with the 12th Alabama (being to young to join when his brothers did). I am searching for burial locations for any of the brothers (I believe Pleasant must have died in the War becuase I can't find anything on him after it). Will be glad to exchange any information I have.
