Ercil F. Eyster was the son of Orville and Florence (Lees) Eyster and was married to Dottie Tufts.According to the History of the Aister-Oyster-Eyster Family, compiled by Marshal Eyster, Florence Eyster-Fix, Donald Eyster, Willard L Heckman, and Elowene Gene Eyster-Hinsch, "Ercil [Eyster] was a 1st. Lieut. in the Air Force of WW II and pilot of a B-17, which was shot down and he was killed. Since the plane and crew dissimulated in mid-air, there is only a marker bearing his name in St. Laurent, Normandy, France and a stone in the Edon [Ohio] Cemetery. Ercil enlisted with his cousin, Willard Heckman, in 1942."For a picture of Ercil and his Air Force crew, see http://www.303rdbga.com/c-359-eyster.htmlhttp://www.303rdbga.com/c-359-eyster.html.
