Kelly, I think this is very interesting. Do you recognize any of these people ? Two years ago I bought an old log home near Gettysburg, Adams Co. PA. The home is located only 2 miles from the MD border and only hundreds of yards from the Mason/Dixon line. Because the home dates to early to mid 1700's I have, as of yesterday, started to research the property ownerships. So far I have only gotten as far back as 1939 when a family named Ramsey owned the property, then sold to MacVaugh, who sold to GEORGE S. AND JOANN R. EYSTER. A portion of the land with house was sold to LAWRENCE SPRANKLE.($8500.) Another portion was sold by JOANN R.EYSTER, widow of GEO.S. in the amount of $1.00 to ANDREW and (wife)CHARLOTTE EYSTER. The property apparently had been subdivided into parcels. A company in MD called CHARNITA, INC. bought all parcels, including the old log home (no other homes had been built on other parcels) which SPRANKLE was living in. The parcels, all, were sold (1992) to R.A.Stevens, $300,000.!! Stevens sold a 10ac. parcel, and two 4 ac. parcels. Deed restriction calls for only one residence per parcel. He himself lived in the log home and had it restored. As well as the 1850 a brick addition that was added to the log structure with a new kitchen and all updated wireing. Stevens increased the size of the home from 1500 sq.ft. to now 3200 sq.ft. Also adding a new well. We purchased the parcel with the old home from Stevens. I'll be going back to the Court House soon to continue with my research. Jill
