Jonas Preston EYRE [1794-1869] son of Jonas Eyre and Elizabeth B. Engle, m. Rebecca Wilson *[1789-1854], dau. of David Wilson and Margaret Mitchell. Children: Jonas Preston 1819, Margaret Wilson 1820, Susanna 1822, Elizabeth 1824, Anne Ely 1826 **(md: William HANNUM), Joshua 1828 and David Wilson 1832.

Jonas EYRE *[1767-1836], **son of Isaac EYRE and Ann PRESTON, md: 1st Elizabeth B ENGLE [?-1798] 27 Jan 1791. Children: Isaac Preston 1792, Jesse Beckerton 1793, Jonas Preston 1794 and Ann Preston 1797.
*Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, PUBLIC LEDGER 25 March 1836, Died: -- On 2d day evening, the 21st inst., at Chester, Jonas EYRE, in the 69th year of his age.

**One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914. Jonas Eyre (1814-20, 1824-1832), son of Isaac and Ann (Preston) Eyre, was born in Chester borough, April 28, 1769. By trade he was a merchant tailor, at that period a highly remunerative occupation, and by his industry, together with his share in his father's estate, he accumulated large means, as wealth was then retarded. He was County Commissioner in 1801, but resigned the office on April 28, 1802, when John Odenheimer was appointed to fill the vacancy. Jonas Eyre died March 31, 1836, aged 65 years.

DIED - At her residence in Philadelphia, on the 27th ult., SUSANNA EYRE, relict of Jonas Eyre, late of Chester, Delaware county, in the 66th year of her age. Her remains were conveyed to this place and interred in Friends' burying ground, accompanied by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
