Le Heyr-William the Conqueror (Connection?)

Does any one know the connection between Humphrey Le Heyr and William the Conqueror? The original story as I heard it was that he was an officer of William, however I have heard more about this and some say that story is not true. He was connected by marriage or direct line. Does anyone have proof of this? any info would be apprieciated
