It appears that Herbert was born in Osmaston by Derby in 1825. His father was Joseph Eyre and his mother was named Susannah. If anyone has any information about Joseph (where he might have been from) I would appreciate it. I know from Dan Eyre's page that there was a Joseph (or two) in the Castleton area in the right time frame, but there is nothing that would link him to this Joseph.
