Hello Antonia!
I just starting searching for my family roots by reading some old family letters. One of them was written by Beatrice Exner Dennett whose father was Joseph Exner. Joseph was the brother of my grandfather, Henry William Exner who lived in Denham Springs, LA. This letter refers to Phillippine as Joe's oldest daughter by his first marriage, she was therefore Beatrices half-sister. Phillipine "Phil" married a man who was born in Mexico of a Spanish family. This man had two brothers, a red-head and a blonde, all with blue eyes. A full sister of Beatrice - Jeanne - married a man named Armando (they were introduced by a girlfriend of Phillipine's). Armando was a cartoonist for the La Prenza Spanish newspaper. Apparently, Armando's family objected to the two getting married, so they eloped. As Armando was underaged, he forged his birthdate on his passport to get a license! Eventually, Armando worked as an artist for the movie and theatre business. As an aside, my Aunt Rosa Lee Exner Osborne, added that she thought that Jeanne and Armando had 3 children, all boys, and that the surname was Arnaldo or Arlondo.

I have a copy of a letter my grandfather wrote to one of my aunts in 1930 outlining more family history. He indicated that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all born in Huttendorf, Northern Bohemia.

Hope this helps - I would love to hear what you have on the family.
