Exline tall tale?

i have somtime in the past been told that George Christoff Oechslen or his father was in a division of the german army known as the giants?
most of the members of our line are tall myself 6'6" and my brother 6'5" my father and grandfather were also tall for thier generations over 6 foot.
is there any truth to this tale that i have been told or merely a tall tale?

i know very little about my ancestors. grandma always said we were heinz 57 (she was boheimian)and grandpa did not talk about his family much. i am pretty sure that we are desended from the Exline that settled Exline Iowa?
many years ago i had a breif look at the Exline /Axline book and i remember that my father was in it (Joseph Edward son of Joseph Arcibal and bernadine) both of Des Moines IA. but i remember some of the dates being wrong.

i would magine after so many years in the colonies and then the United States about the only thing that is truley german is the roots of the name. i seem to remeber being told that the ancestor that settled Exline Iowa was married 3 times and the third was an indian Squah. (another tall tale?)
i would love to see how the line traces back if someone could help me.
