There were a number of Ewings that immigrated to America before 1776.We know of a number of them and they settled in the Chester Co., PA and Cecil Co., MD area and moved on from their. The Thomas that married Mary Maskell came to Long Island in 1718 and then to NJ.He most likely had two brothers that came with him.I do not believe that there is any evidence of the Ewings owing two ships. It is stated that the Ewing, Porter, Gillespie, and other families came on two ships:Eagle Wing & Rising Sun.
As the editor of the journal published by Clan Ewing of America, I think that I might be able to help you some.Contact me by e-mail [email protected] and give as much info about the wives as possible since so many men in the Ewing family had the same given name.
