Actually, I have no history of the Ewers name, other than what I learned from my mother. Her father, Langer H. Ewers, b. circa 1853, died of pneumonia in Nov. 1909. I just started researching the family in 2000, and I haven't pursued it too much yet. Any information you could provide would be most helpful. My mother (b. 1904) and her sister and two brothers were born in the Jackson Purchase area of KY, the eight westernmost counties of the state.
