have just begun research into my grandfather's family and am having difficulty going back beyond two generations. My grandfather was henry ewens and was born in Orford, PQ in 1876. his parents were George Reilly Ewens and Rosella Bowen of Magog (or environs), PQ. Family oral history relates that George Ewens died at a fairly early age in winter while out hunting/trapping. Also, Henry Ewens had four siblings: William Ewens Florence Ewens Bowen Nora Ewens Patch Malvina Ewens Allard We are not able to find any info on this family back beyond George Ewens. We question if this family was Loyalist and may have entered PQ in the late 1700's? Does anyone out there have any information at all regarding the Ewens in Quebec? We would sincerely appreciate any assistance, since we have been trying to untangle this mystery for quite some time. Thank you very much in advance. Philip and Cindy Mathews
