Ewart Family Genealogy Forum

My husband's Ewart family left County Cumberland, England, for Canada between 1812-15. They are supposed to be Scottish origin but I haven't gotten them out of England. I have only found one record for George Ewart whose son, Thomas Ewart was christened 10 Dec 1771 at Nichol Forest. Thomas m.3 Aug 1794 to Violet Forster at Kirk Andrews Upon Esk and died 20 May 1834 in Cascades, Soulanges, Montreal, Canada. Descendants of Thomas/Violet lived in Quebec and around Wyoming, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. I don't know if George and his wife had other children; I found no other christening records and George's wife was not named on their son's. There were quite a few Ewarts in County Cumberland at this time. Please contact me personally at my email address if you should stumble over old George. Thank you. My husband's grandfather settled in Kansas in the mid-1880's where he graduated from dental college.
