I have Ewarts in Glasgow in the 19th century as well.
Robert Ewart (abt 1831-1880) married Margaret Coulter (1835-1889) and they lived in Lanark district along with 9 children, one of whom was Margaret Ewart, my great grandmother, and as well, a Hugh, who died as an infant in 1872. However, given the Scottish practice of repeating names over and over within families we may be connected.
Robert Ewart may have been born in Ireland and his parents were James Ewart and Janet Hill.
