This man is an ancestor. In fact I have a copy of the painting of of the Taking of the Standard. The picture hangs in a pub in Edinburgh. His name was Srg. Charles Ewart. In fact his remains were moved with flag to Edinburgh Castle. I also have an article written about 100 years later about the incident. My grandmother was Helen Henderson Ewart. Her father Henry Ewart and mother Sarah Gunn immagrated from Scotland.
