Hello Mark

Just seen your entry on the Ewart Genforum site relating to your grandfather Thomas Ewart Gardner.

Are you referring to the T. Ewart Gardner who farmed at Dean Farm, near Fareham, Hants from 1939 onwards? And before that at Goliegh Farm, Alton, Hants, with his father who died in 1936? And before that at St. Alban's Agricultural College after attending Hitchen Grammar School in Hertforshire? And who had moved to a Herts dairy farm with his father in 1917 from Cumberland (now part of Cumbria)?

If so, I should be able to help as you and I will be connected. A distant cousin and I have recently been working on this very individual and are, I hope, about to establish his exact origins, which were apparently in the parish of Plumbland in Cumberland.

Would be very pleased indeed to hear from you!

Yours sincerely,

Peter Ewart (nr Canterbury, Kent, England)
