Hello Stacy,

I did have a Bertha Ewald in my family, but she married Charles Pfistner. In my research on Ewald families in Detroit, census records do show that some had Bertha(s) listed as a child. It seems to have been a popular name back in the early 1900s. Was yours born in America or Germany/Prussia?
My Ewald family were all from the area of eastern Prussia which is now in Poland, inland from Gdansk, but not far from the Baltic Sea. Lee
