Hi, I think I emailed w/you eons ago abt our family. I desc. fr Joseph Eves who m. Hannah Downing the (adpoted) dau. of Samuel Downing and Jane Wilson. Joseph was the son of John P Eves and "Anna" unknown. This John P was the son of Joseph Eves and Sarah Parvin...this Jos. being the son of John Eves and Edith Yeatman.
My Joseph moved fr Millville to Half Moon Twp nr Stormstown PA and eventually took over the farm of his wife's adoptive father. Joseph was born in 1818/1819. He and his wife are buried not far fr the old Centre Co Meeting House on the old Tyrone Pike just past Centennial PA, in a little Quaker cemetery. They were the parents of John P Eves 1854-1932 who m. Ella Nora Biddle 1850-1937 (bur Gray's cem Stormstown PA)
John P Eves of 1854 and Ella were the parents of my great-grandfather, Victor Claire Eves (who m. LouLou Thomas). Victor and LouLou lived in a house right across the road from Centre Meeting. My grandmother, their dau, Bessie Frances Eves (m. J.Wm.Ishler) was raised in the Friends' Meeting. I still have her " Cradle Roll" certificate. My first degree was in fine arts and I've painted a lovely watercolor of the Centre Co Friends' Meeting House (not used anymore for meeting...used as a grange) that I have hanging over my mantel here in CA.
I have no Eves names left in my family b/c my grandmother had only sisters. Victor died in 1966 (LuLu died 10 years earlier--both bur at Gray's Cem Stormstown) and my grandmother died in 1996 (bur. Centre Memorial nr Bellefonte PA). Her sisters died recently (Mary and Elizabeth). My grandmother and her husband J.Wm Ishler had 11 children survive to have families of their own (my father, Donald Ishler, was their oldest) Her sister Elizabeth (Parsons) had none and her other sister, Mary (Keifer), had a boy and a girl. They were mainly raised by their aunt Elizabeth(who lived in Elmira NY)
I am curious if you know of any Eves descs. in So. CA? When I moved to CA 20 yrs ago, there were Eves in Murrieta--a few mi. from me---which was then a tiny village (now 100,000!) They moved but are still in Riverside Co. area.
