According to my Grandmother, who was a niece of Wilmer Eves, in her words:"...my mother Lorraine Campbell Eves - She was born in Millville, Penn. Sept. 28-1875 and died here in Washington [D.C.] Dec. 9-1951. Mamma had a hard time as her mother died when my mother was. 8 mo. Old and she was the youngest of 11 children most of them having died very young. There were 4 brothers-Will, Dilwyn, Clarke and Sherman. Her father and she lived with the brother Dilwyn during her young yrs. They had one boy named Clad [Claude?] and the 3 of them died at early ages of consumption. Then she and her father went to live with his sister Lydia VanHorn who was a Quaker and sat on the high bench at Quaker meeting house and did the speaking if the spirit spoke to her. Her father [James] Watson Eves died while living with aunt Lydia when Mamma was 15 yrs. old. Clarke had died and her brother Will had disappeared so uncle Sherman who had gone to West Branch was the only one to look after her. He took her home with him and left her in the care of old Quaker aunt who was very mean to Mama. She met my father and they were married Nov. 18-1891-She was 17 yrs. old-"
