Hi there,
I am trying to do some research for friends, and am hoping someone out there can supply more info. on these EVERHARTS in Davidson Co., North Carolina.
MITTIE EMMA EVERHART was born 26 Apr. 1891 or 1892, and died 30 June 1968 in Lexington. She married JAMES ARTHUR TUSSEY, son of THOMAS J. TUSSEY and GENETTA R. EVERHART. This Mittie Emma Everhart was daughter of VANNIS EVERHART. I have found his name spelled VANIS and VANOUS also. I think he was ANDREW VANIS EVERHART, and that he was born Oct 1860. He married ca 1878 to SARAH CROTTS.
I have found Vanis and Sarah in some of the census reports, but can't find his parents. I found an Andrew and Mahala Everhart in 1870 and 1880, with son Andrew. Also found a John and Eliza Everhart, with son Andrew...in Midway. Does anyone know if either of these are the correct parents? I also found a marriage for Andrew C. Everhart and Sarah A. Crotts, 19 Oct. 1878, and assume these may be the right ones.
As for the other one.....the above GENETTA R. EVERHART (NETTIE) was born ca 1869. She was daughter of FELIX H. EVERHART and MARGARET JANE LEONARD. Does anyone know more about this Everhart line?
