Joanna, I too am a descendant of Thomas Everett and Agnes Diggs. I believe Agnes is buried in Glenwood cemetery in Yazoo City, MS. My gr-gr-grandmother was Emeline Everett who married Simeon Duggan in Sevier Co, TN. They moved to Yazoo Co, MS around 1852. She was the daughter of James Everett and Judith Jernigan. I have not been able to find any other information on Thomas Everett myself other than what was sent to me by another relative and what is in the Moorman Bible. Rebecca Everett, a daughter of Thomas and Agnes married Andrew Moorman. The Moorman family was in Grenada, MS acording to what I have seen. The records are confusing. I have found a Thomas Everett of Anson Co, NC who married Elizabeth Covington. I wonder if there were two Thomas Everetts or if researchers have picked the wrong place for our Thomas Everett. It is also possible that Thomas' father was also named Thomas. I have looked at google books and found a snippet preview of a book: "My folk: The first three hundred years, 1670 - 1970", a study of many first settlers and founders of old Anson and Richmond Counties, North Carolina By Eleanor Pratt Covington McSwain Published by Stanly County Historical Society, 1972 Original from the University of Wisconsin - Madison Digitized Aug 15, 2007 It would probably be good to look for this book and see what it has to offer. Interestingly enough, one of my first cousins on another side of the family has the Covington name in her father's family (not related to me). I will have to ask her if she has seen the book.
