Maryville Times, (Blount Co. TN) Thursday, June 29, 1933, Page 6:
"Obituary---The death angel has again visited our community and its victim this times was Mrs. Jack Everett who lived near Union School. Mrs. Everett had been sick for more than a year and was bedfast for several months before her death. We feel that it was a merciful God in relieving her of her pain. She suffered so greatly and always talked of how much better it would be when God called her home, where there is neither pain nor sorrow. She was prepared to go at any time, although we can't understand why she was taken away from us, but we do know she is resting in Jesus. She only has a short time to wait until we will all be gathered together around the Great White Throne. We miss you so, Susie, but we'll all see you again someday.
Mrs. Everett was before her marriage, Miss Susie Elizabeth Kirby. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her death: Eula, Kathleen, James, Bernice and Leon. Also her father and step-mother, Mr. & Mrs. Milton Kirby; two sisters, Mrs. James Caldwell of Walland and Mrs. Joe Jackson of Knoxville; four half-sisters, Mrs. Frances Lowe, Helen, Pearl and Elsie Kirby, and one half-brother, Charles Kirby all of Maryville.
Mrs. Everett died Saturday morning, June 23, 1933, and was laid to rest Sunday, June 24, 1933, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery."
