EVERETT, John - OHIO

You show a son of John and Ann Everett was Martin, b. abt. 1844 in OH.
Also you show that his future wife, Eliza White was living in the same
township. Now, I am researching a Powell family that lived in Wyandotte
County, Kansas in 1880. There are two Powell brothers (Benjamin and
Eugene) living next door to a David C. Murphy, MD on that census and he
shows a girl living with his family as a servant named Melva Everett.
Also in Delaware Twp. was a Martin and Eliza Everett:
ED 188, Page 228 (5), 53/57
Martin S. Everett, M, 36, Head, M, Laborer, OH, NJ, PA
Eliza, F, 31, Wife, M, Keeping House, OH, OH, OH
Harry, M, 10, Son, At school, OH, OH, OH
Willie, M, 7, Son, KS, OH, OH
Charles, M, 5, Son, KS, OH, OH
Nellie M., F, 1, Dau, KS, OH, OH
Clarence V. Griffith, M, 20, Boarder, Laborer, OH, OH, OH
I know that Eugene married a girl named Melva and she fits the profile
(age and place of birth) with Melva Everett. I find Eugene and Melva
Powell on the 1900 censusEverest City, Washington Twp, Brown County,
Kansas and they have two daughters.......Marie and Elsie. Melva is found
twenty years later back in Wyandotte Co. a widow and working as a
supervisor at Bethany Hospital.
Can you help me connect Melva to your Everett family? Might she have
been the oldest daughter of Martin and Eliza?
Benjamin and Eugene were brothers of my g-grandfather, George W. Powell
and I try to follow the lines down as far as I can with the hopes of
finding others who are researching the same family.
If Melva was connected to your Everett family, perhaps you might know a
date of death on Eugene and Melva and if their daughters married.
Much appreciation,
Linda Garrett
