Tony, if you are ever in Houston you may want to visit the Clayton Genealogy Library and look through the book,"Everett/Everitt Family - A Genealogical History" by Alvaretta Kenan Register and edited by David M. Foley, Ph.D. The book was published in 1987 and is very well done. It is about 350 pages. The book starts with Nathaniel Everett in about 1678 but is primarily focused on the descendants of his grandson, John Everett and his wife Sarah Fagan. John and Sarah moved from North Carolina to Georgia in 1785 and from that time on the spelling of the name seemed to have changed from Everett to Everitt. I spent several hours today going through the book but was working with their fourth child Jehu and you would probably be more interested in their sixth child John Fagan.
