"Unlocking Your Past" Family History Event

The event is called "Unlocking Your Past" and it is open free to the public; even the refreshments are free! There is no need to call or register, we are prepared to handle up to 1,000 visitors a day. The event location is at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, corner of Mentzer Gap and Old Forge Roads, in Waynesboro, PA. Directions from the nearest interstate, I-81 are on the event telephone hotline listed below.

Each day the event will feature 13 presentations by a distinguished panel of area authors, historians, professional genealogists, educators, curators and experienced family history researchers. There will be dozens of exhibits featuring samples of local family histories, photo albums, family memorabilia and period clothing. Informational videos will start every half hour in two separate rooms, while ongoing computer demonstrations will show how computers and the internet can help family history research.

Event dates are March 6th, 7th and 8th. Exhibits will open at 1:00 PM on the 6th and 7th, and at 9:00 AM on the 8th. Presentations begin one hour after opening and continue until 8:45 PM on the 6th and 7th, and until 4:45 PM on the 8th.
