Scott County, VA will be hosting our 1st Genealogy Weekend June 3rd - 4th, 2011 in Gate City, VA. Friday, June 3rd visitors are encouraged to serach resources at the Scott County Circuit Court Clerk's office located in the Courthosue and at the Scott County Public Library. There will be a Bar-B-Q dinner, music and speaker that evening at The Homeplace. Saturday, June 4th visitors can serach resources at the Scott County Public Library, attend the Genealogy Trail Map Launch and participate in a scavenger hunt. If you're interested in attending, please contact Jennifer Puckett jpuckett@scottcountyva.com or call 276-386-6521 for more information. Reservations are required for the Bar-B-Q dinner with a cost of $12 per person in advance. There are MANY more activities planned in our community for "Trail Days" this particular weekend, so there are plenty of things to do while you're here.
