The Special Collections Division of the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Summit County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society are pleased to present the free day-long program “Discovering Your Ancestors Online” on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Main Library Auditorium at 60 South High Street, Akron, Ohio. The program will feature presentations by: Laura Prescott, a nationally known researcher, writer, and speaker who serves as president of the Association of Professional Genealogists and as a consultant for Footnote.com; Judith Porter, Director of the Family History Center in Tallmadge, Ohio; and Edward Loera, a former librarian and current trainer with ProQuest.
