This month, Friends of The Woodlawn Cemetery will help New Yorkers explore the rich heritage of those interred at Woodlawn. For those who want to research their family history, on Saturday, April 17, the historic Woodlawn Cemetery will host “Using Cemetery Records – Genealogy Workshop.” During the session, participants will learn how to get the most out of cemetery research, including reviewing interment records (the documents involved in placing memorials) and what to ask for when requesting records from a cemetery. Woodlawn’s Director of Historical Services leads this two-hour workshop. $20 per person, reservations required, please call 718-920-1470. 2:00 p.m.
