Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
"Honoring the Legacy of Our Fathers" is the theme of the 2nd Annual West Coast Summit on African American Genealogy. Hosted by the African American Genealogy Society of Sacramento, CA (www.aagssc.org), this event will be held June 14-15, 2002 at the Sacramento Convention Center. All of the major black genealogy groups in the West will come together to learn, share, and network. The keynote speaker, REGINALD WASHINGTON, African American Genealogy Subject Area Specialist, NARA - Washington, D.C., will give a presentation on "The Southern Claims Commission."
Groups from San Diego, Seattle, Los Angeles, Orange County, Oakland, and Sacramento will discuss a variety of topic including: "People of Color in the Bible," "Using Color Clues in African American Genealogy Research," "Louisiana Conveyance Records," "Freedmen Enrollment in the Five Civilized Tribes," and other topics.
