The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sioux Falls will host its annual Family History Conference entitled 'Researching Your Ancestors' on Saturday, October 23, 2004. The conference will be at the local meetinghouse located at 3900 S. Fairhall Ave. in Sioux Falls. Registration begins at 8:00 AM with classes and seminars beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding at 3:00 PM. The conference is free to the public, and those interested in genealogy are encouraged to attend. A conference syllabus is available for download at www.siouxfallsfamilyhistory.com. Lunch will be available for $6.00. Participants who wish to purchase the lunch are encouraged to register by October 10, 2003. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.siouxfallsfamilyhistory.com, and are also available at LDS Family History Centers located at local meetinghouses and at the Sioux Falls Genealogical Society. This year's conference will feature 20 separate classes with a theme centered around 'Researching Your Ancestors.' The agenda will feature interesting classes such as creating a family website and how to identify old photos. One of the classes will also focus on South Dakota ethnic settlements. There will be a variety of classes for beginners to enthusiasts. Displays and hands-on demonstrations will also be set up for conference participants.
