Daniel Evans sailor from Wales est. DOB 1805-1815

I am looking for information on Daniel Evans from Wales. This is a very common name, the other information I have on him is that he is listed on his son Jeremiah Evans' marriage certificate as being a sailor. Jeremiah was born sometime between Dec 1835 and April 1836, so I am estimating that his father was born between 1805-1815. Jeremiah Evans married Dinah Lewis in Aberdere, Methyr Tydfil Wales on December 15, 1856. Dinah was 20 at the time (DOB 1834; her father was Jeremiah Lewis a carpenter.
The marriage certificate says that Jeremiah was living in Upper Gate at the time. I didn't find the place Upper Gate but it may be Upper Garth located in Caernorvonshire, Wales. Dinah was living in Aberaman near Aberdere (Glamorganshire). The family Bible of Jeremiah's son, also called Daniel Evans, says that Jeremiah was born in Morristown, which could be Morristown near Penarth, or possibly a miss-spelling of Morriston located near Swansea. Listed as a witness on Jeremiah and Dinah's marriage certificate is David Lewis Davies. Thanks for any help. Gregory Evans (evans6502@msn.com)
