I believe his father's name might have been George (?) Evans too, but not sure. My great-grand father was born in/around the Tazewell, TN area and also lived in the Bell Co., KY area around the Middlesboro and Fonde towns (?). He married Molly Dobbs from Bell Co., Ky. He also lived in Michigan for many years and later died and buried there in the 1950's. His son, my grand-father, is George Herman Evans. Any help will be great.
