First, a James Evans was baptized into Upper Spotsylvania Church (now Craig's Church), Spotsylvania County (VA), about 1767. He was associated with the church's branch in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he served as a licensed preacher.
Second, a James Evans was a member of Chesterfield Church, Chesterfield County (VA), from 1785 until his death in 1792. He was a licensed preacher there when he died.
Question: does anyone know if these two men are one and the same person?
