I am looking for relatives of Philip Eva born Oct 9 1826 in the Ilderney or Alderney Islands of Great Britain married Sarah Jane Matthews born Nov 6 1824 in the same locale. Had three children believed to have been born before emigration; Sarah Jane b Nov 6 1844, Elizabeth France d o b unknown, Mary Ann b 1852. Philip worked as a stone mason in Great Britain and later in Canada. Philip emigrated to Canada in 1854 and in the same year a brother emigrated to Australia. The brother's given name is unknown and my grandfather had mentioned in a written narrative dated 1975 that Philip had never heard from his brother or his family after 1854, and did not know whether they arrived in Australia or perished at sea. My request is more to satisfy a memory of my grandfather and, perhaps, to put the one or two Eva's who still live around the Durham, Ontario region, in touch with their long lost relatives. This is a family which should retain it's roots.
