Hi, I am a Eubank with no "s".Have discoverd that in old records the "s" pops on and off.Sometimes it seems a branch keeps it, sometimes not (and in other cases "s" and "no s" are totally different people).I am trying to track down my 3xg grandfather George Eubank (sometimes, it seems, referred to as Eubanks - if it is the same person - not sure if there was a George Eubank and a George Eubanks - or if the "s" popped on and off the same man), possibly married to a Mary, poss. Mary Brown, poss. Mary Ann Riley.I'm sure my George was father to Ambrose, John, Joseph A., George W., Frances M. (and maybe a Martha).I know George lived in Lowndes Co., Miss. from about the early 1830s - ?Before that he lived in Alabama, possibly Jefferson county. Most records say he was born in Georgia. One record suggests his father was a Richard Eubank of Virginia, but I'm not certain of this.I believe George to have been born in 1782 or thereabouts. Not sure where he died. I'm descended from his son, John, b. in Ala. in 1823, who then lived with George in Lowndes Co., Miss., married 1852-ish to Rosita Catherine Smith, moved to Atalla Co., Miss., then in 1872 moved to Mexia, TX, and died there in 1907.I'm descended from John's son, Jason Edwin, b. Miss. in 1863.If this seems to match with your records, please help me.My email - [email protected], my snail-mail address - John Eubank 22485 Domingo Rd., Woodland Hills, CA91364.Thanks
