Hi Frances,
Thank you responding. My Marguerite was the daughterof Pierre Etie. She was born about1772at Destrehan, St. Charles Parish, LA. Pierre was born circa 1740 at Bordeaux, France. He died Nov. 21 1821 in St. Mary Parish. My problem is with Marguerite's mother. I have her as Catalina Toupard, a native of Fort Chartres, ILL. My records show that she and Pierre were married in St. Martinville, Parish of St. Martin, LA. I have never been able to find a confirmation of that. And other people on the Web don't show Catalina as a wife to Pierre. I imagine that this is just a mistaken surname, but would like to know for sure. Thanks.
