We have not yet been able to prove that Thomas Etherton b. 1783 VA was the son of Samuel Etherton b. ca. 1740-1750 as listed in the 1830 census of Jackson Co., IL, but it seems logical.

Here is my line of descent:

Thomas Etherton b. 1783 VA md. Jennie/Jane (Lipe)?? maiden name not proven. Thru son William Etherton b. 1811 (Cocke Co.?) TN md. Minerva Hiller thru son William Etherton b. 1837 Jackson Co., IL md. Susanna Hagler thru son Benjamin Franklin b. 1868 md. Rachel Ann Rogers thru daughter Edith Elizabeth b. 1901 md. Clarence Herbert "Ben" Ellis thru son Hurchel Clarence Ellis b. 1919 md. Thelma Mae Will to daughter Sherry Lynn Ellis b. 1947 (me) md. David W. Kyle
