Just looking at your tree hoping to find James Etherton b abt 1816/17. He married Rachel Bixler and traveled same route. In 1850 census, Cass Co. Illinois, William a 73 and Mary age 70, William a 25 and Nancy a 18, John Scaggs a 5, are all living next to my Jacob Bixler. They are from Kentucky also. My Rachel b abt 1814 in Shelby, Co. KY. where they were married 1832. They have one child born in IL, 1 MO. 1 KS. Have you heard of this family in your line?? Left KY probably abt 1845.
