I understand Lydia is daug of Ellick/Allick b1746. I am a direct descendent of Ellick's brother Edmund/Edmond, b 1743.
I have traced their father Richard back to his arrival in Steep, Hampshire around 1740 but can find no further history. If you have anything pre 1740 I would be delighted to hear from you.
I have seen a document in the Hampshire record office, the name of which escapes me but is a kind of indemnity bond from Petersfield (I think) that promises to pay "compensation" to Hawkley, the village Ellick and his family moved to if they become a burden on the community that shows Ellick had other children including Amelia/Dinah, b 1770, Hannah, David b1777, Jane b1782, Ellick b1783, Mathew b1784, Joyce and John.
