My husband/your cousin, Jay Esty, is the last male in his particular branch with the Esty name. He descends thru Elijah B. Esty’s daughter Sarah Rosmond Esty.

Sarah Rosmond Esty, b. 23 April 1844 in unknown northeastern US location, m. Calvin Carl Phillips on unknown date in Cedar Falls, IA or Madison, WI, d. 30 Dec 1925 in Santa Cruz, CA. They had 2 children: Viola Estella Phillips b. 2 Jul 1864, Etta Elizabeth Phillips b. 27 May 1866 in Madison, WI.

Etta Elizabeth Phillips married Hiram J. Esty on 10 April 1924 in unknown location. I suspect Hiram J. was her cousin. He was born in NY state on March 1844, was a Civil War captain, and died in 1909 in Westbrook, ME. I have no information on his parentage. Their son Horace B. Esty and his wife Etta Lottie Libby, of Westbrook, ME, are my husband's grandparents.

We ended up moving to central Wisconsin recently and have stumbled upon some local land records of various related Civil War era Esty's.

If anyone has any info on any of these Esty's or has ideas on WI records that we could help track down please let me know. nuite@proliantgroup.com
